Great Hälsinge Farms Route

The Great Hälsinge Farms Route takes you to an era when a rich farming culture, with acharacteristic architecture and interior decorating art developed. Flax made into linen became a contributing factor to farm wealth. The Hälsinge Farms may well become our fifteenth World Heritage Site.

08.00 We meet in Stockholm at Kungsbron 21 where Bengts Busstjänst will collect us
A short break en route.
11.30 Our guide meets us in Bollnäs. We continue towards the beautiful Växbo Valley( Växbodalen)
11.45 Lunch at Växbo Inn ( Växbo krog) which is well know for its delicious traditional Hälsinge cooking based on local produce. We will then take a gentle stroll in the pleasant sourroundings, including the old mil and the handcraft center.
13.00 We visit the Växbo Linen Mil(Växbo Lin) for a guided tour through the factory to see the production, and we also get an opportunity to shop high-quality linen goods at factory outlet prices.
13.45 Departure for the Voxna Valley( Voxnadalen) for a fascinating tour around the Hälsinge Farms. Our guide tells us the story of how they developed and of their unique features.
Visit to one of the larger mid-18th century farms, which will be opened up especially for our group.
15.45 Coffee with flatbread sandwiches, a savoury Hälsinge delicacy!
16.30 Visit to another Hälsinge farm from the 18th century to see another aspect of how things were in those days.
17.15 Return to Stockholm; A short break en route.We expect to be back at around 20.30
